Come on In
Our Community is Your Community
Merryoaks Hall is a place for everyone to use and be welcomed into whether you're a neighbour, visiting the area or live in the wider Durham area. We are always open Monday to Friday 9 am to 5pm and from 11 am on weekends.
The hall hosts a great variety of classes, social groups and events, weekly, fortnightly and monthly events, clubs and services for all ages. We also offer private room hire for meetings, large and small private events, childrens parties and work space.
The main hall, multipurpose room, kitchen and office are all available for booking by the hour. If you have a particular request, or you are planning a special occasion event, please contact us to discuss your needs and see how we can help: Email mchbookings@lowesbarncp.org.uk or if you prefer, you can call between 9 am and 5pm on 07467 063940.
The Hub
At the heart of the hall as you enter is the hub, a communal space for people to sit in a comfortable chair or take a seat at the hub table, where there is always a jigsaw on the go and the childrens art corner. There are childrens and adults books to borrow, magazines to browse through and a wealth of local news and information leaflets. The kitchenette can be used during opening times to make a hot or cold drink. ***small donation
Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied and supervised by an adult whilst in the hub, kitchenette and toilets. We ask that you use this space and these resources respectfully and leave the hub areas as you find them so that others can enjoy these facilities too.
